Born and raised in Fall River, Mike Miozza attended B.M.C. Durfee High School, where he met his wife, Susan (Guinen). Miozza graduated in 1974 and the couple married a year later. Except for a brief period in the mid-1980s, when he and his family (the couple has two children) moved south, Mike has spent his adult life in Fall River.  During that time, he has been busy raising his family, working and going to school.   A board certified safety professional, Miozza earned a Masters Degree in Business Management from Lesley University and a  Bachelor of Science in  Management from the University of Massachusetts,  Dartmouth.

Mike is the owner of Health & Safety Solutions Inc. an environmental, health and safety consulting business located in Fall River.  He studied Safety Engineering at Kennedy-Western University, is a Certified Safety Professional (CSP®) and is a certified Building Biology™ Environmental Consultant (BBEC).  Mike currently is employed by GTECH Corporation as their Senior Manager of Environmental, Health and Safety.  Before GTECH, Mike was the Safety and Environmental Director at Taco, Inc.

Other positions he has held include Insurance Safety Consultant for Alexander and Schmidt and Regional Reporting, Inc., Corporate Environmental Health and Safety Director for American Power Conversion, and Senior Human Resource Representative at the Coca-Cola Bottling Company of New England.

Many people may not know what goes into environmental, health, and safety issues in a corporate setting.  Mike works in conjunction with regulations enacted by the U.S. Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA), the Department of Transportation (DOT), the Environmental Protection Agency, and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). To learn more about the type of the work he is involved in go to www.health-safetysolutions.com.

In his spare time Mike has a variety of interests which include performing close-up magic and ballroom dancing.

Mike has formally announced his candidacy for City Council in Fall River, Massachusetts, his native city.  He is eager to provide the proper leadership that he sees fit for the city.  He is looking to incorporate significant changes through the Council by learning from previous failed attempts and trying different approaches to solving issues.  Mike has a small team of friends and city residents assembled to guide him through his third attempt at candidacy, and he is excited to venture into a new opportunity.

Mike has been married to his wife, Susan, for 35 years, has two children, Angela and Eric, and two grandchildren, Hannah and Nathan.
