A PERSONAL MESSAGE FROM CITY COUNCIL CANDIDATE
MIKE MIOZZA TO 2011 VOTERS

Every community has its own unique personality, its own rhythm and vibrancy, and its own unique challenges.  Fall River is no different. I have watched our city flounder over the years.   We can do better!  By working together to create solutions, we can improve our economic situation, create jobs, improve education and reduce crime.

I would like to thank the Fall River voters who supported my run for City Council in the past.  The 2009 election, I missed being one of your City Councilors by only 134 votes.   I know I need to work twice as hard this election cycle if I intend on being elected.  I am proud to be a resident of Fall River. My decision to run again was made because I really want to serve on the City Council.  I want to help lead our community in the most effective manner and improve the quality of life here in Fall River.I want to tackle every problem that comes up and be part of the solution.

I have lived in our fair city most of my life and have seen it go through many changes. Some of those changes were good, and I believe some changes were not so good. However, I do not want to criticize anyone or place blame.  I simply want to tell you why I am running for the office of City Council.

I believe that I will make a good choice for City Council because I have the best interest of our community deep within my heart. Working in business has taught me one very important lesson. No matter how good you think you are doing, you can always do better. We should always strive to set our goals higher each time and when we achieve those goals we should set the goals higher than before. It’s going to take hard work to change the direction of the city.  I’m not afraid of the hard work.

That will be my approach to serving our fair city if elected to the office of City Council.  I will set my goals high and worked endlessly to achieve them. I will work hard to serve and represent all groups of our community. I am deeply committed to providing the best service to our residents for all of the basic essential services that people require, especially police and fire.

How do we change our direction? It starts with a commitment to make our city a priority.

Communities are built by everyone doing their part. I believe the community has the capacity to come together and cooperate on ideas essential to the improvement of the quality of all our lives.  So, if this community can find it in their hearts to elect me as one of their City Councilors, I promise that no one will out work or out research me on issues facing our city.  I promise to keep in touch with the community by attending as many community group meetings as possible. I promise I will make those important decisions regarding our community. Most importantly, I promise to never forget why I am doing it.   I will be doing it for the people in this community. I will be doing it because you put your faith and trust in me and I will never betray that trust.

I ask for your vote so I can fight to make Fall River a better place to live, work and play.

It’s up to you…..If I win – you win!
